Feminine, flirty, chic and effortless are just a few of the ways the PHI Spring ’07 collection could be described. As PHI's signature black was shown on several separates, an element of ease was filtered throughout in numerous ways in oyster, petal, heather and ivory. The dreamy-like effect can be attributed to the inspiration by Deborah Turbeville's works of a similar nature.
The fluidity and motion shown in crepe de chines, silk chiffons and silk cottons still placed emphasis on articulate architecture. Separates with pleats, ruffles and tucks were all paired and layered in a graceful way, giving various options for day and evening. The array of garments shown was completely unexpected, in that it allowed for surprise and awe - - silk chiffon overalls and culottes, tulle bras and crepe de chine boxers. As always the details were executed with precision. Ornate fabric cuts allowed for elegant drapes, as the models strolled down the runway in platform sandals and flats.
PHI's accessory offering this season played off patent leather as a secondary element, with handbags trimmed in patent leather. PHI's product offerings this season will definitely be worth the wait until next year.
