JSong...Way  New York Fashion Week Spring 2014

Fashion Ledge - JSong...Way
Musings about a spring replete with pleats, lace and embroidery came to life at the JSong and…Way spring 2014 collection. Way Zen’s latest offering affords women versatility and choice. Choice comes in four garment groupings: pastels, graphic art, lace embroidery, and pleats. We have waxed poetic in the past about Way Zen’s unique command of embroidery (this season in various forms like cutouts).

Spot-on trends such as color blocking are deftly executed. Spring 2014 also continues the trend of mod, wearable ensembles that juxtapose style and function: a car coat has a convertible collar. This is a beautiful collection with a delicate femininity to it and smart color choices.

Doreen Guarneri of pure NV BKT was inspired by the effortless garments and pleats and created coifs that channeled the pleat. Doreen used a bungee braid, a side low pony that is tousled on the ends, which came across as timeless romanticism…perhaps what one might imagine a JSong and…Way woman might look like while taking a stroll on the Thames.
