A red sheath dress with a pop of lace over the knee opening was evocative of a flamenco gown. A cap sleeve skirt suit in was draped with a baggy cut in a structured, architectural brown. A beaded bustier top was a standout among the monochromatic separates as was a knotted asymmetrical ruched dress.
The piping over mesh on a few of the looks was organically inspired - - with detail that resembled veins on a leaf, or fractal art and imagery. A flower petal skirt resembled a ballerina tutu in shape. A belted sequined tweed overcoat was very mod influenced, with the glitz that buyers have come to expect from the label. Sequins managed to look fluid and not too bulky on the gown, despite the weight and heft they added to the pieces. The designer incorporated watercolor prints on chiffon tops and dresses. And a one-shoulder lace knee length dress was of note.
A pleated long gown provided a much-needed update to the ombre trend, and the subtle shifts in color worked well with the draping of the gown. And a white/nude chiffon tulle gown was an update to the one worn by Anne Hathaway during her routine with Hugh Jackman at the Oscars in 2009 - - this time updated with glittery sequins dusted all over the sheer lace off-the-shoulder sleeves.
