Tracy Reese brings a contemporary feel to the 1940’s silhouettes. Risen waistlines are reminiscent of Hepburn-esque sophistication. Draped blouses and her use of wide trouser and narrow cuffed styles as well as skirts in slender and flared shapes flatter and do not lose the femininity of the female form. She incorporates a striking color palette where everything has its place; the combinations are sexy, smart, and chic with a modern appeal. She is able to keep the interest of every woman no matter the age.
The patterns and textures flow into story line. Blacks are tailored and refined, paired with caramel, smooth and then printed. There were many surprises in each group that have now become my new favorites. Starting with the black chunky long cardigan with crème cami.’ The toggle sweaters looked so warm and inviting, and beaded slip dresses and skirts offer subtle sexiness. The textured over coats were distinctive, some of the best!
This season seems effortless to Ms. Reese as she continues to be unafraid to use colors in rust, royal blue, berry heather grey, oatmeal, chocolates and black along with natural prints for fall and accentuates the form with refined detailing smart accessories to achieve an array of brilliantly balanced, tailored looks.
