As with all of his collections, Oscar has given the world an opportunity to live
through his visions of beauty. NEW YORK, September 18, 2003 his designs gave the
definition of luxury in the vibrant use of colors and details of sensuality for
the silhouettes of a woman. He places the emphasis on tailored suits, tailored
trousers and shirts, silk shirtdresses and swingy skirts worn with linen blouses.
Trench coats in white silk to gold brocade were my most favorable, and of course
his elegant expressions of design for evening wear. His choices of color are colors
of comfort in deep browns, sienna, pastels of yellow, and lavender. Oscar de la
Renta’s spring 2003 collection also commands subtle attention to the use
of accessories; beaded purses, necklaces all create a finished look. Oscar paid
homage to Cristobal Balenciaga with a sexy sculpted, jacket made from cream-colored
ottoman. The true spirit of Oscar de la Renta was realized in this collection
with his impeccable vision for fashion and the love for beauty.
