Romancing the runway at Tadashi Shoji FW13. With the unveiling of demure alternating with daring, the collection shifted depending on the occasion. The simple and on the less dressy side of things paved the way with elegant casual cuts showcased pre-dress drama. Gowns, cocktails and evenings, long or short, varied in structure and sensibility. Enhancements range from oh-so subtle printing and pleating, to all-out sequins and hems ruffled with pleasure. There were several laser cut dresses that showcased an organic texture and movement. Running the gambit of fine fabrics for fall from velvet to silk, combinations with sheers and lace inserts or layers, add flirty movement. Gold-piped shoes, substantial sparkle for earrings, and thin belts accentuating tiny waists played up a certain doll-like quality while messy hair and dark lips infused an air of mystery and intrigue.
