Dragana Ognjenovic Modern Serbian Couturier debuted her fall 2006 collection for the first time to the New York Audience at Olympus Fashion Week. Her line is completely midnight black from the most dramatic to the subtlest details. At first glance the colorless display seemed a bit cumbersome, but the beauty is in the details. Textured fabrics and clean tailored jackets, skirts and slim pants. A closer inspection reveals the richness of the collection.
Dragana Ognjenovic’s Fall 2006 collection of modern womenswear is reminiscent of the Golden Age of Belgrade, a time of beauty and sophistication, before the ravages of war. The precise, emphatic collection features accessories footwear, handbags, jewelry and eyewear -all from Dragana’s eponymous collection. Dragana is a fashion visionary with a unique style that speaks to an international audience; her clothes are truly wearable works of art.
Dragana collaborated with Dior’s beauty team and celebrity hair stylist Ric Pipino for her rich and dramatic Fall 2006 Olympus Fashion Week presentation.
A fashion visionary in her native Eastern Europe, Dragana began her career as a painter and went on to become a costume designer for film and theatre, and eventually launched the first TV fashion program in Serbia.
