Fashion Ledge - Reem Acra
Reem Acra Fall 2006

“With this show I wanted to redefine evening dressing. My goal was to broaden the concept of what and how a woman can dress for even the most special of occasions. It is very important for a woman to look fresh and modem. I chose a palette of classic tones—of blacks, whites and greys accented by midnight blue, evergreen and scarlet. Antique metallic tones serve as the finish on my beading and embroideries. I hope this collection offers a modem sensibility with a touch of the past.” - - Reem Acra, February 6, 2006

Reem Acra has established herself as regal and distinct with her interpretations of beauty. This season is not any different: intricate hand beading and embroidery is her signature motifs. The looks are modern and offer sexy and daring illusion bodysuits to elegant chiffon gowns. Black is the staple color and is used for trouser pants, jackets, and silk underlay. I loved her combinations of beading with tailored bodices, along with the surprise of the lipstick red chiffon gown. Absolutely gorgeous!!
