Mac Millan  NY Fashion Week Spring 2007

Fashion Ledge - Mac Millan
Mac Millan Spring / Summer 2007

For summer 2007 Mac Millan return to their Scottish heritage fusing traditional Celtic values with accents of geometric compositions to create a synergy of fresh archetypal shapes.

Draped jerseys featuring elements of Scottish dress take on a modern twist with innovative cutting and inspirational compositions while long floaty chiffon dresses evoke the timeless romance and independence of Scotland’s ancient heritage.

“I was initially inspired by the clean geometric lines of Scottish tartans and 18th Century Scottish dress,” says Jane McMillan, designer and founder of the brand. She continues, “and [I] was keen to move this traditional print forward into the 21st century”.

Original Mac Millan prints feature explosions of geometric contour in a vivid colour palette comprising coral, turquoise and mauve with highlights of yellow while monochrome black and silver put the accent on apricot graphic prints in clean modern silhouettes.
