Fall 2011 was partially inspired by the ancient Chinese story of Nien, a wild animal who hunted humans one terrible winter and once expelled brought about a celebration with fireworks, which is the genesis of the Chinese New Year.
The architectural collection then is about interpretations, storytelling and reinventions. The journey, as always, plaits the four elements, Air, Water, Earth, and Fire. Color is strongly used to distinguish the elements and as a backdrop: reds, purples, yellows are all sighted.
Designer Way smartly continues to skew her core clientele with chic business attire like a multi-colored block satin jacket and makes sure to provide off-hour relief vis a vis an ultra charming red chiffon pleated beaded dress. The dress captures Way’s lighter side and is a nice balance to the tights that were spotted. The JSong...Way client will also have fun choosing from the bevy of stylish gloves in a variety of lengths.
Way’s signature use and mastery of embroidery, floral detailing,
and cutouts continues to impress and leave behind a sophisticated woman. This
is most evident in the brown fur collar jacket paired with an ivory camisole
and ivory long skirt.
If only all our dreams were like this...
