Chado Ralph Rucci Spring 2009
Chado Ralph Rucci's spring 2009 offering is easily one of the best of the season. A well-constructed minimal silhouette found the right balance to cater to a younger customer even as it continued to maintain its hold on the trendy, more mature customer. The first-glance simplicity of a white, satin-faced coatdress is actually achieved with finite attention to detail including diagonal pintucks shaped like double-headed nails.
Experimentation with transparency heightens the lightweight effect, (a beige jacket is embellished with wool crepe strips applied to the tulle ground fabric). An alabaster wool crepe dress is charming while a black silk faille suit dazzles and echoes the minimalist approach with subtle interplay between details and accessories, which is consistent with the socio-political climate of less is more. Think timeless appeal and simple elegance.
