DDCLAB, which stands for design development concepts is all about fusions. Its aim is to mete fashion design and technology with innovative fabrics and textiles. The design duo of Roberto Crivello and Savania Davies-Keiller are more known for their efforts at tech chic and this is their first offering of a ready-to-wear collection for men and women.
The collection kept its tech roots close in mind, but it flirted with a heightened elegance, particularly for the women’s pieces. The taupe crinkle silk dress with chocolate braided leather scarf was promising and equally interesting was the black crepe silk rope dress accessorized with black ribbed dipped pumps.
The men’s blazers and sweaters were some of our favorites such as the deep purple iridescent double breasted blazer or the black anti-radiation inox blazer paired with a lead washed waxy nab button down shirt.
Thematically the collection was a little stilted, but the meticulous edginess that it conveyed was enough to carry it in the home stretch.
