Now  What? Tru Life, Is Now What!

2006 came and left like a thief in the night and so did its music. The last two quarters of 2006, especially the latter, had rappers “dropping” like flies….

 Just to name a few Diddy dropped Press Play,  Fat Joe dropped Me, Myself and I, Lil ‘Wayne and Baby dropped Like Father, Like Son , everyone was B-A-L-L-I-N with Jim Jones, Snoop Dogg dropped Tha Blue Carpet, Hov knocked us in the head with the highly anticipated Kingdom Come and then Nas came along and declared all musical efforts knull and void with Hip Hop is Dead.  So now what can the children look forward to? Tru Life is what.

Roc La Familia’s , Lower East Side born and bred artist Tru Life is still spitting fire with the same passion he possessed since the very beginning. Tru Life actually stands for, The Righteous Uniting Everybody Living In a Fantasy Enviroment. He got his name Tru Life because every time he would rhyme it would be so personable and hit home to who ever listened.

Tru Life has an intriguing persona that even comes through on wax.  It’s his talent and integrity that caught the attention of Tha Godfather - that’s right nephew.

Snoop Dogg shared his shine with his homie Tru Life when he brought him out on stage two nights in a row during his performances at the Apollo and needless to say New York went bananas over “Mr. New New York” himself.

Tru Life has been grinding the underground circuit for a minute before landing his deal and has collaborated mix cd’s with the likes of popular DJ’s and rappers like Green Lantern, Sickamore, Kay Slay, Kool G-Rap, Akon, Saigon, to name a few off the roster.

Tru Life’s latest success is his mix-tape banger  Tru York with features that include, Jay-Z, Memphis Bleek, Nore, Snoop Dogg, productions by Cool and Dre and Neo da  Matrix- Look out for Neo!!.  One of the singles off the cd- Get That Paper recently premiered on Hot 97 with DJ Cipher Sounds and the spins just keep going and going….

What makes Tru Life so magnetic is his passion for music, extreme loyalty and love for the NYC and his authenticity- he’s just 100 all the time. He’s a ryder for sure and music isn’t the end, only the beginning. Acting is in his immediate future and since real recognizes real, his roles will be just as credible as he is.  With his drive, he’ll be gracing the big screen any day now.
