Still Making Headlines…
By Odienne Dina Chisolm
As much as Jay-Z is with Beyonce in St. Tropez, at the Grammy’s, the BET awards, 40/40 Club and on the floor at the Nets games just to name a few sightings, at the end of the day I believe Jay-Z just wants to kick back and just be who he is …... El Presidente of Def Jam, but somehow, it’s not that easy. |

Even after retiring from rap (at least for now because we all know “you can try to change but that’s just the top layer, no matter where you go, you are what you are player,” so he’ll be back) as I was saying, even after retiring from rap, Jay-Z continues to make headlines in hip-hop.
It wasn’t enough for rapper Camron to make a dis record about Jay-Z stating how he stole everyone’s lyrics from Biggie to Snoop Dogg to Tupac and he’s not really a writer, but a biter (hip hop dictionary; biter- one who copies another one’s style), but now Cam took things a step further and shot a video for a song called Lick It or Not/Wet Wipes in which Jimmy “JJ” Walker from the hit 70’s sitcom Good Times, spoofs Jay-Z in the video. This can’t be a good thing. |

Now I’m not sure if Jay-Z’s feathers were ruffled by Camron’s accusations, but Camron is not the only one at odds with Sean Carter these days. Former pro-wrestler, Page “Diamond Dallas” Falkinburg is suing Jay-Z for improper use of his “Diamond Cutter” hand sign (the Roc is in the building). The former wrestler claims he trademarked the rights to the diamond shaped symbol in 1996. What the *(&^%$#’! |

It doesn’t stop there, Jay-Z’s sexual stature is rumored to be mentioned in an upcoming book by Carmen Bryan called, Sex, Drugs & Hip Hop…Oh and Did I Mention Love? Yes, Nas’ baby’s mother is writing a tell-all book. Nas’ sexual open-minded views and Allen Iverson’s sexual stamina also rumored to be mentioned. Do tell Carmen, do tell!
Lastly, Jay-Z along with rapper Ice-T is being sued by ex- 2 live crewmember, Mark Ross for back royalties and punitive damages. Ross states that he wrote lyrics similar to songs from The Black Album and that the song is based on his unaccredited work on a track of the same name appears on Ice-T’s Home Invasion Disc.
Jay-Z truly has 99 problems and a b*tch aint’ one! |
