Citizens of Humanity

by Amanda Dawson
Citizens of Humanity is all about innovative designs, comfort, and fit. The collection is contemporary, sophisticated and for Holiday '09, the brand is channeling the 80's punk rock and roll style. Slim silhouettes with zippers, Swarovski crystals, lace up and twisted leg seams make Citizens of Humanity unique and stand out from other denim brands. Favorites of the day were the Dylan boyfriend jean and the Ava straight leg.

Some of the new fits include the Heavenly Skinny that fits like your skin to your legs with zipper detail around the waistband. The Edge sits low on the waist with a slim leg that is still roomy in the thigh and tapers down through the ankle. Finally there is the Phantom which has a cropped 28" inseam and falls above the ankle. Tops have a "worn in" feel to them with accents such as gold paint, burn holes, and dipped tie dye. Mixing velour, denim and corduroy made it easy to have only Citizen of Humanity in your closet and never fall short.

"The Holiday 2009 CITIZENS OF HUMANITY Men’s collection is all about casual sophistication. This season's washes, fabrics and fits have a well-loved vintage appeal while still maintaining a polished and distinguished look. The CITIZENS OF HUMANITY man is urbane and cultivated and is therefore always looking for styles that are a cut above the rest, yet effortless and wearable. The Holiday collection was created with this man in mind."

"The Holiday 2009 CITIZENS OF HUMANITY Women's collection melds classic characteristics of 80's punk rock styling with modern sophistication to produce pieces that are not only contemporary and fashionable, but ahead of the trend. While certain elements of this collection are reminiscent of styles from decades passed, others lend a futuristic vibe that creates juxtaposition between old and new."
