KATE SPADE's Apparel Debut Glistens!

by Amanda Dawson
Kate Spade's Fall 2009 Apparel debut was heavily influenced by the mod look - - the colors and silhouettes were just the beginning. Feminine touches such as bows, ruffles, and intricate beading made the looks interesting and light hearted. When asked of his thoughts on the debut, Tim Gunn gushed, "I'm thrilled! She knows that a woman wants to be able to have fun with her clothes without looking like shes wearing a costume. He continued: "The detail and beading is impeccable!" One can complete an entire outfit out of only Kate Spade's creations, which include hats, blouses, skirts, jackets, leggings/tights, gloves, jewelry, purse, sunglasses and shoes!! Wow! Can we say wonder woman? Black, reds, pinks, and mustard dominated the color story with a splash of others to brighten and switch it up. The models mostly wore jackets and dresses while standing in front of a gold sequin back drop that added even more sparkle to the clothes. The accessories, purses, and shoes featured tons of glitter and shimmer to them in equal amounts. Bags and coin purses were made with leather and suede to resemble Owls. Patent pink shoes and bags were flirting with everyone in the room, begging to be taken out on the town. On the jewelry front were necklaces with sparkling spheres dangling from the chain. If the apparel debut has proven one thing, its that Kate Spade has done it yet again and blown everyone away! One can complete an entire outfit out of only Kate Spade's creations, which include hats, blouses, skirts, jackets, leggings/tights, gloves, jewelry, purse, sunglasses and shoes!!
