Jean Euphoria With Jeanisis

by Kenyatta D. Pious
A good pair of jeans for a man is about as important as a good handbag or the ubiquitous black dress for a woman. Go to jeans need to suggest sex appeal with a good fit and never be uncomfortable. The best jeans are manly when worn with tees while hanging with the guys at the local watering hole and can add an air of sophistication when paired with button downs or casual sport coats.

Help the men in your life achieve jean euphoria with an affordable pair from Jeanisis, a brand that touts itself as being the new breed of fashion. You can also snag interesting crew tees from Jeanisis for a relaxed summer look. We fell in love with this brand when we first reported about it. The love affair continues and we caught up with Dyrel Treadwell (VP of Operations/CEO) Clarence Grant (President/CEO) to see what’s new with Jeanisis. And, of course, we are running another promotion (see the bottom of the article) for your chance to win a FREE pair of Jeanisis jeans and a top. What a great way to kick-off your summer!

Do you have any personal dos and don’ts for people when they look for a pair of jeans?
The biggest 'do and don’t' when looking to purchase denim is find the perfect wash, purchase your true size - baggy denim can give the impression that you may be bigger than you are and cheap is not always better. Search for quality denim not always the name brand.

What is the biggest mistake people make when caring for jeans?
The biggest mistake people normally make when caring for jeans is not correctly washing them, which causes some denim to have a quicker fade to the original wash. The other mistake is over-washing a pair of denim which also causes un-intentional fading. The best option is use detergent specifically made for items of color to give the denim a longer lasting appeal along with keeping the original color intact longer.

What would you say keeps your brand relevant?
What kept us relevant is the loyal fan base we created over the years that provides constant support of the brand along with the advantages of social media outlets to reach those in various parts of the world. Another valuable asset is having a creative vision for your designs and creating a brand!

Is there an iconic figure past or present that embodies Jeanisi?
There are so many iconic figures we admire so that is a tough decision…

What was the hardest thing about designing the latest collection?
The hardest thing about designing a collection is allowing yourself to be creative and innovative in your approach. Trends are constantly changing but we always look to be a trendsetter with the items we release and not conform to what others want you to design.

How important are price points to you?
Price points are very important. Reason being is that a designer can make quality products that are affordable for society to purchase and be happy with the purchase they made. When a designer provides reasonably priced items, it allows your customer base to become appreciative of the price, quality and design.

Are there any events that you have to be involved in each year/season?
As a relevant or new designer you should consider the popular trade-shows as an outlet to display your product, view the competition and potentially gain a new stock-list (A commercial retailer or wholesaler that stocks merchandise) of stores. Take advantage of the local fashion shows that are well organized and consider the smaller trade-shows as a second option.

Where can the collection be purchased?
The collection is only available online at

In hindsight, is there something you would have done differently when starting out?
I think as business owners we always have something we would have loved to see done differently such as the people we surrounded ourselves with in the early stages, studying more of the business and creating a better awareness about the brand.

If you could collaborate with anyone, who would it be?
It would have to be Ralph Lauren. He is the definition of long term success in the fashion world.

What’s the best business advice anyone has ever told you?
To never be afraid of change and keep a trust worthy business team.

What book are you reading right now?
"Cry the Beloved Country" by Alan Patton

What are three things you couldn’t live without?
The Bible, my laptop and my Jeanisis denim

Tell us two people past or present you would love to meet and what you would ask them?
The first would be Dr. Martin Luther King and I would ask him how did he prepare [for] the struggles he faced? The second person would be someone in fashion like Michael Kors, to get his insight on the fashion world.
