The hip hop industry took over South Beach during Memorial Day Weekend. Miami's
own Slip-n-Slide Records, home of the hits and hit-makers such
as Trina, Plies, and Rick Ross, teamed up with B.E.T
and Smirnoff Vodka to dominate Dade County with a star studded lineup. Slip-n-Slide Records was all over South Beach with A-list events and music
On Thursday , May 26th: Hip hop's "Diamond Princess" Trina took over Macy's for the "Red Bottoms Meet and Greet Event" where the platinum selling rapper talked beauty, shoes, and music with fans at Macy's Downtown Miami locatio.
Later that night, Macy's and Sean John Clothing came together to present the All-star NFL Celebrity Fashion Show, the freshest fashion show Miami has ever seen. Athletes and artists worked the runway wearing Sean John's newest Spring arrivals, the premiere brand in sophisticated fashion forward clothing with an urban edge.
The weekend included a "Who Hotter Than Me" artist showcase where hip-hop hopefuls gave it their all as they compete for a once in a lifetime music deal. Prizes included a recording contract with Slip-n-Slide Records, as well as a feature in The Source Magazine's "Unsigned Hype" section.

performances from "This is Why I'm Hot" New York rapper MIMS,
B-Stacks, J-Money, Slip-n-Slide's own Mike Bless and Bud, as well as
other special invited guest appearances.
The following day, Sunday, May 29th: B.E.T's hit show "Master of the Mix" hit the East Coast for the biggest DJ competition of the year. The cameras were rolling and the music was bumping during Smirnoff Vodka's "DJ Spin-off" casting. The event featured disc-jockeys auditioning for the chance to appear on the second season of B.E.T's "Master of the Mix."
Finally on Monday, May 30th - - the pressure was on as the country's top ten aspiring R&B singers and musician performed at Crescendo Jazz and Blues Lounge for the "Next Big R&B Superstar Showcase." The artists performed in front of some of the music industry's top players during the Miami Industry Brunch, and celebrity judges including Ted Lucas, 99 Jamz and more. The Next Big R&B Superstar won a contract with Slip-n-Slide Records. The event's proceeds benefitted the local Miami-Dade community.
