Meredith Sloane began working in the music PR industry in Los Angeles for the past ten years. By going out to clubs or attending celebrity parties nearly every night, she decided to come up with something funky and sexy at the same time and decided on fishnets. She really loved fishnet stockings, but found that there were not many out there that she wanted to wear. So she came up with an idea that would be really fun: fishnets with different colored elastic bands.

She ended up making a few sample pieces and began wearing them out at night, and started getting a lot of attention. People would ask “Oh! Where did you get those?” and she immediately knew that she had something. She began pricing and manufacturing them with another company, and started selling right out of her bag while at the nightclubs! She sold hundreds and hundreds and then she went into a partnership with her sister Brooke Sloane to make the collection more stable.

Melonets are the perfect accessory because you can dress them up or down. They can be worn above the knee, below the knee, under a short or long skirt, as lingerie, or underneath pants. Her inspirations definitely come from the rock side of things, the music and clubs, and with celebrities like Avril Lavigne, Fergie from Black Eyed Peas, Jewel, and Carmen Elecktra.

Scented underwear by Melon is light, seamless underwear. The focus was to be unique and fun so Meredith started working with a company that developed the technology to put a scent in clothing and underwear. They use the same technology as dyer sheets, and it’s woven into the thread and continues their fragrance of powder fresh up to 15 washes. Customers love them for yoga or exercising. They love them because they make your whole bag of dirty laundry smell nice!

Their collection is definitely unique by appealing to every age range. They even have an 88-year-old fan of the fishnet. Ladies, look out for newer colors and bras and sets even though stockings will remain the Sloane’s focus. Melon fashion is fast becoming a global company! Why not?
