They chose the name “Maripaz” because
it is the name of their late mother, who started the business
in the mid-‘80s. She was a pioneer in her field, making
beautiful products that were accepted all over the world.
"We felt there is no better way to honor her than to
carry on her tradition and passion for excellence by using
her name for our brand."
When they began in 1988 their expertise lied in home linens, specializing in intricately embroidered tablecloths and placemats made in the Philippines. In 1994, one of Maripaz’ buyers, El Corte Ingles from Spain, suggested that Maripaz transfer their expertise to nightwear, and thus the Maripaz Lingerie Line was born.
The Maripaz collection remains one of the most
outstanding companies for loungewear and lingerie. For spring
they keep it fresh by continuing to update their color schemes
and keeping customers satisfied. Maripaz feels that as a smaller
company it can serve customers better. They have their own
company and 100% control over their production without keeping
the customers waiting on key items. They managed to do all
of this and be well priced without lessening their impeccable
quality.
Maripaz is known for being very sophisticated
and elegant; their customers can wear their pieces outside
the house or even to parties. Their unique embroidery satins
and chiffons will be accompanied with cotton knits and other
fabrics with a comfort feel. With an added twist, they will
be adding unique features such as hand painting and airbrush.
They are looking to build on their already existing plus size
business, which currently goes up to a size 3X. Indeed Maripaz’
plus-size customers in the USA are constantly looking for
elegant sleepwear. Fortunately, the Maripaz fit is excellent
for the plus-size customer.
