	Between making chart-topping music and acting on the big screen, Grammy Award Winning Ashanti gives the inside scoop on her new fragrance PRECIOUS JEWEL BY ASHANTI From recording artist to fragrance developer – what inspired you to start a perfume line? The inspiration really stems from my music career. I wanted to pay a tribute to all my fans who have supported me throughout the years by creating a signature scent that would be accessible to everyone. Did you face any challenges creating your perfume line? I wanted everything to be perfect! I must’ve driven the fragrance developers nuts by making sure everything was exactly how I envisioned – from the actual scent to the packaging. I’m so pleased with the final product that it made all the attention to detail worth it. Where did the name “Precious Jewel” come from? This project was very precious to me. I wanted to choose a name that represented woman and would grab the attention of women of all ages. All women are precious jewels! Why did you choose to launch your Precious Jewel by Ashanti through Wal-Mart? Wal-mart is perfect for the fragrance I had in mind. Like I said – it was all about making my scent accessible to all my fans – and what better way than to sell the fragrance through Wal-mart -- there are stores all over the country, and I love the fact that a consumer can buy my CD and fragrance at the same time. (They can also buy everything else they need at Wal-mart!)
