Temple Effectives began in 1998 and was created to support the underground hip hop culture with quality products. Two individuals have grown the company to what it is today. One individual is from Orange County with a history in the world of skate and the other is from Los Angeles with a background in hip hop: Tony Gabriele and Aaron Mostow aka Sum-in-1.

Explain the meaning behind the name.
It’s an effective way of thinking, looking and feeling.

Tell us a little bit about your current collection and the inspiration.
Our current collection -The Bizness Edition - is for the most part based on domestic and foreign currency and the fact that we’re all about handling business and making exchanges.

Who do you envision wearing this collection?
The movers, the shakers, the real moneymakers.

The celebrity that best embodies our brand is not just 1 celebrity.

Who is your ideal customer and why?
Our ideal customer is anyone and everyone including your second and third cousins.

Tell us one thing that no one knows about the brand.
We never sleep.

What are your designers doing to keep up with the competition and to keep Temple Effectives relevant in todays declining economy?
We focus our attention on pushing our own brands’ innovation, what we would like to wear and not giving a f*ck what our competitors do. Even if the economy is on a decline we find ways to be on the up and up.

What trends are you seriously tired of and hope will remain in 2008?
I’m tired of all these bright ass colors, that sh*t is mad lame.

What trends do you expect will be big next season?
For spring, summer ‘09, I feel that many brands are trying to all of a sudden go ‘More Adult’ but Temple Effectives has always been catered to people of all ages, so it’s the nothing new under the sun.
