The 2008 SHAN collection is glamorous, high-couture,
sophisticated, elegant, refined, feminine and audacious.
Creator, Chantal Levesque, wanted to honor women with this
collection using inspiration that she found in Milan libraries.
Therefore, she chose to name each theme with a woman’s
name that inspires softness and femininity.
For just over 22 years, SHAN has built a reputation of
innovation and creativity. As a leader, the challenge is
to work with the highest technological products and to always
offer the best to the SHAN woman despite the trends, since
SHAN is the one who sets them up.
The CAPUCINE print is derived from the
trend of giant and very colorful patterns, combined with
the unique and very well defined colors that SHAN has developed.
Think classic swimsuit, perfect fit, technical confection
of the highest standards. Every SHAN woman will recognize
herself in these particular styles.
CHARLOTTE is the perfect example of comfortable
fabric with advanced technology. SHAN is introducing a completely
new and innovative product: light foam with incorporated
lycra, very resistant, dries fast, great support and comfort,
and no thickness at all. The combination of mesh lace and
light foam with lycra looks and fits just perfectly to the
body.
ROXANE is a reproduction of an antique
cacao velvet tapestry to which was added an audacious combination
of contemporary mango and blue tones, to give a feminine
and glamorous giant print. This group was spiced up with
a lot of embroidery like the Charlotte group, since the
mesh lace is a very strong trend this season. The little
bows on a few pieces make it even more delicate and feminine.
SIMONE print is a natural inspiration
of Deep Sea flora to which was added a touch of circus imagery.
The Deep Sea brings the softness while the circus imagery
adds a lot of energy to the print. The Simone group is introducing
the Ink color, which is a dark blue that is very fashionable
and trendy. Another important detail that was introduced
with Simone are the pieces of jewelry which are made in
orroroso – Rose gold – adding a touch of luxury
to each piece.
ANASTASIA is a gypsy-chic style. In this
group, the cotton fabric has been brought back for its undeniable
comfort properties. Again, advanced technology was used
in a new print technique to give a tattoo effect on the
fabric. It makes the color very intense, going all the way
down deep into the material. This fabric feels like a second
skin; very comfortable, trendy and new. Anastasia print
has also been inspired from Deep Sea flora and circus imagery,
since the print is the same as Simone. It just looks completely
different on a dark font. For the first time, Levesque created
a complete Prêt-a-Porter line that matches each group
of the collection.
STELLA is a very sexy and comfortable
collection and will please every women.
The fabric for this group is the signature jersey fabric
that is wrinkle free and easy to care for, qualities which
have become SHAN’s trademark.
The famous V hoodie is a must once again
this season. Let’s not forget the knee length leggings
which will make any top more stylish. Multi-occasion dresses,
sexy jumpsuit as well as beach bags are just a few must-have
this season from SHAN.
What's next for SHAN?
We do have a lingerie collection for woman and underwear
for men. We also have a swimsuit line for men, which we
are hoping to extend its distribution with the 2009 collection.
