Aguaclara Summer 2007
Written by Yvette N. Coleman
Liliana keeps it fresh and sexy this season with
sensual designs that are inspired by: the nature
of her country; the colors of the Andes;
the Amazon and the ocean, the desert coast that
contrasts with the ocean; and all the natural
things coming from the rainforest and the animal
species. This season Liliana has developed styles with
various crystals, pailletes, and intricate beads.
Textures, such as soft leather micro-fiber, satin,
and lycra-tulle, are used in all of her collections.
Sexy one-piece suits are still present and
will still be in future collections.
Aguaclara, which means “clear
water” in Spanish, began in the
early 1990’s after Liliana went into partnership
with her brother, Jorge Villalobos who is the
current Director of Applauzi Peru and Applauzi
International Corp. USA - and the two incorporated
Applauzi S.A. (bathing suits manufacturing). Liliana manages to keep her collection fun, basic
and essential with bright colors, beads and hand
appliqués that embellish these suits while
setting this collection apart from the competition.
“We have been 17 years in the
business and entered the American market 5 years
ago and keep growing every year,” says
Liliana
