Laura Geller
Beauty in Bloom
Written by Yvette N. Coleman
This spring putting on your “face” will
have a whole new meaning. Laura Geller, professional
make up artist is sharing her know-how to revamp our
beauty bags just in time for the summer! Laura
says “the natural you, but better” will
be refreshing as we shed the layers of cosmetics.
This fresh, “bare it all approach” is great
for the warmer weather months as it tends to last longer
for all day wear. Laura has expressly created
three new “must haves” for summer that include:
Marble Eyes and Cheek Compact Kit ($48.00) – Two fresh new eye shadow shades -- Sable Shimmer and New Frost -- of ultra-wearable Baked Marble Eye Shadow powders that deliver unique, multi-dimensional colors that mimic the nuances seen in smooth, young skin. These are accompanied by an entirely new skin-lifting shade of Blush-n-Brighten, Golden Apricot, which is the perfect partner to complete this travel-size-trio compact. Laura’s Lesson: “Take your blush and bring it into the crease of the eye to create a professional looking brighter and softer look for the season. We do this at the studio all the time and it creates a very ‘finished and perfected’ look.”
Liquid Candleight ($22.50) – This lightweight, oil-free lotion imparts a radiant glow while freshening the skin and airbrushing away subtle flaws. An exclusive hypoallergenic formula that contains Vitamins A and E, Chamomile, Ginseng and exclusive Mineral Complex which works to naturally compliment any complexion. Laura’s Lesson: “A radiant glow speaks volumes and imparts an overall appearance of restfulness and glamour. And with Candlelight it is just too easy to use this everyday! Simply add subtle shimmer and glow to skin by mixing a few drops of Liquid Candlelight with foundation. Apply and viola – gorgeous glow that brightens the face!”
Welcome Matte ($22.50) – There is such a thing as the wrong glow (T-Zone anyone?!) Promote an even, natural look and combat shine without adding layer upon layer of makeup. Squeeze a small amount of this gel-based liquid into hands and apply to problem areas in the morning and throughout the day. Its subtle, light-diffusing properties actually shrink the look of pores and create a porcelain matte finish. Laura’s Lesson: “Keep Welcome Matte with you at all times! Just apply to T zone (the forehead, nose and cheeks) or problem areas right over makeup. The thinner the application the more effective the product! Layering your products, in general, with the thinnest of application will give you longevity and more wearability.”
