Upon stepping into the world of Rock & Republic, I immediately knew the company is a force to be reckoned with!  The collections scream hot and sexy, cutting edge, chic rocker!  The R & R logo is a skull with wings, encasing a mirrored "R."  Quite creative!  In only its 4th year, CEO and Head Designer Michael Ball, receives rave reviews both nationally and internationally for Rock & Republic’s innovative breakthroughs in the premium/ luxe lifestyle market. 

With its celebrated success of the rock-monikered denim collection, Rock & Republic proudly introduces newly expanded categories, such as the launch of the Tailor Made Rock & Republic Collection and an extraordinary line of accessories, featuring intricately designed footwear, handbags, and eyewear. The Tailor Made Rock & Republic collection offers sleek contours and custom fits.  Attention to detail is evident, with focus on double stacked lasored buttons, embroidered logos, double tailoring, and reversed yolk stitching.  The line captures a modern sense of style that remains amazingly comfortable, yet distinctively classy.        

Men can be seen wearing sophisticated military suit jackets or a perfect straight fitting suit complimented by flexible plush leather footwear.  For the rocker girl, who can’t wear jeans to the office, Tailor Made Rock & Republic features a full line of cashmere sweaters, double lapel vests, logo driven blazers, both pencil and mini denim skirts, and plenty of universal dress ties. 

Women’s footwear instantly attracts attention, with such varieties as, peak toe “Betty Boop” platform shoes, animal print and camouflage high heels, as well as corked wedge heels.  Details are taken to the next level as shoes are made with men’s tie fabric, men’s dress shirting, paton leather with wicker heels, and Swarovski crystal hardware.

Handbags include hobos, totes, top handles, and pouchettes, which are defined by creative innovation and practicality.  These alluring bags exhibit superior hand craftsmanship through the use of materials and fabrics (i.e. calfskin and pony hair), flawless tailoring, the use of hardware stud accents, and skull and corset lacing detailing.  Eyewear includes the Rock & Republic spin on the Aviator and Jackie O style sunglasses.  Both are adorned with subtle skull hardware on the edges. 
           
I had an opportunity to meet with Andrea Bernholtz, President of Rock & Republic, and I posed a few questions to her about the line.

Where did the name Rock & Republic originate from?
It refers to the saying, “That rocks!”  "Republic" stands for “the people.”  We rock the people!

What was the inspiration for the collection?
Michael has inspired the brand with a modern, sophisticated, and edgy style gleaned from the fused influences of maverick rock 'n' roll, and his innate fashion sense.

Where can Rock & Republic be purchased and what are the price points?
It can be purchased at Bergdorf Goodman, Fred Segal, and Neiman Marcus (to name a few).  Rock & Republic ranges from $180 to $370 for men and women’s bottoms; $90 to $150 for blazers; $60 to $320 for tops; $295 to $595 for shoes; $300 to $695 for handbags.  Tailor Made Rock & Republic ranges from $220 to $390 for bottoms; $350 to $980 for blazers; and $85 to $380 for tops.

What’s next for Rock & Republic?
We will further evolve the premium/ luxe lifestyle label with the launch of Rock & Republic cosmetics, and we are looking to collaborate on jewelry designs!
