Black Orchid has rich dark accords with an alluring
potion of black orchids and spice.
The topnote opens with a sensuous blend
of Black Truffle and Ylang Ylang mingled
with fresh Bergamot and delectable Black Currant. The
dramatic heart of the fragrance unfolds with the custom-made
Tom Ford Black Orchid blended with dark, tempting floral
and rich Fruit Accords. The heart is deepened with the
intoxicating Lotus Wood. The decadent Noir Gourmand
Accord is balanced by Patchouli,
Incense and Vetiver. Vanilla
Tears add a fluid creaminess to warm Balsam
and smooth Sandalwood.
The inspiration for Black Orchid came
from Tom Ford's attraction to the unattainable and,
in particular, his fascination with finding the elusive
black orchid. Ford explains: "To me, it
is the perfect flower...luxurious, elegant, pure, and
sophisticated. The only problem was it didn't exist.
For centuries, orchid specialists have been searching
for a black orchid but it took an expert and very patient
grower in California to create the elegant hybrid that
is now recognized as the only true black orchid from
nature. The moment I saw it I knew it would be the signature
for my first women's fragrance."

The Tom Ford Black Orchid bottle reflects his taste for
elegance, style and perfection.
Classically modern and ultra-glamorous,
the jet black bottle has Art Deco-inspired lines. From
the superb craftsmanship of the fluted glass to the
bespoke details of the hand tied cord, 23K gold-plated
name plaque and engraved lettering, the bottle is quintessential
Tom Ford. The centerpiece of the collection is a limited
edition pure black crystal perfume bottle, created exclusively
for The Tom Ford Fragrance Collection by Lalique. Renowned
for its superb craftsmanship, quality and design, Lalique
has been creating beautiful glassware for over 100 years.
"For me, Lalique was the only choice. The
Lalique heritage, tradition, craftsmanship and legacy
of iconic fragrance bottles made the decision an easy
one. I worked side by side with their master glassmakers
to create the limited edition crystal bottle. Each bottle
is signed and numbered and comes with a certificate
of authenticity," explains Ford.
The Tom Ford Black Orchid Collection consists
of perfume, three sizes of eau de parfum and a sophisticated
ancillary collection. The crystal perfume bottle is
presented with a .5 oz glass vial filled with perfume
and a gold funnel to pour the fragrance into the bottle.
The vial is perfect for travel. A black velvet pouch
completes the presentation. The outer packaging is both
elegant and glamorous with its richly textured gold
carton, black interior and black label.
