Sophisticated Rock: Frankie B. Jeans
Written by Yvette N. Coleman

Frankie B. Jeans are premium denim with a sexy rock-n-roll appeal. Designer Daniella Clarke mixes colors and textures to create a trendsetting phenomenon that has taken fashion by storm.  Her humble garage beginnings of restructuring her own personal jean wear to taking her cue from the rock-n-roll experience from life on the road with musician Gilby Clarke has created a lifestyle collection.

“Frankie B. started from a hole in the market place that I accidentally discovered from a personal desire to have low-slung sexy jeans that fit like a glove. I didn't know much about the denim industry.

I am self-taught from the school of hard knocks. Really it all originated from me making the jeans for myself and other people asking me to make them a pair, after awhile I realized that I could be in business with this idea,” says Daniella.

For the brand, Frankie B. is strong, feminine, sexy and modern wearable for many seasons to come.  For the fall expect sophisticated dark rinses with minimal distressing with cuts and blends that emphasize comfort and style. The Frankie B. collection includes tops, t-shirts, dress trousers - -this is a classic look for a contemporary woman.

Daniella says she is her “own customer." She continues, "I always consider if I personally will wear it or if my daughter and her friends will like them. As for a celebrity muse I often watch Kate Moss - - she is such a style icon and I love how she is so independent in her thinking.”

Daniella has built Frankie B. into a brand with basic beliefs that make people feel good about the product that they have invested into.

When asked what fads are prevalent, she said: “I'm starting to see more of the Wide-leg jean (think Lauren Hutton 70s). “

And as for what fads are out of season:
“Celebrity watching! And Skinny jeans (only because I'm bitter since skinny's make me look like an ice-cream cone).”

Her trend forcasting is as follows: “The 70s will be back in a big way although for me it never left. Big bell-bottoms will make a come back and I can't wait.”

With such success, will a men's line soon follow? “Definitely! Yes, my husband is begging!”

Words of advice from Daniella Clarke owner/designer of Frankie B. Jeans:
“I think the best advice I ever got was know what your good at and what you're not hire professionals for.”

Frankie B. retails from $145-$265 and the collection is available at Nordstrom, Planet
