Golden Lady:
Heidi Klum Jewelry

Written by Yvette N. Coleman

We can recognize her smile from any line up…Ms. Heidi Klum, 33, has become synonymous with Victoria Secret and Sports Illustrated swimsuits (and let’s not forget her killer physic) for many years. Now she takes another step into the fashion industry as a jewelry connoisseur by pairing up with known artist, Mouawad, famous for his outstanding attention to detail and quality. Her exuberant charm is surely contagious and reflects highly on her approach to life and her new collection exemplifies her ability to set fashion trends with her signature jewelry line.

It began as simple pendants, earrings and necklaces of 18-karat gold or pavé diamonds and has now matured into a full line of fashion accessories ranging from chandelier earrings to charm bracelets to multi-strand necklaces. Klum wanted to create jewelry for women who have impeccable taste and designs that she herself would imagine wearing.

The newest pieces reflect a shift to a mini-clover, some in 18-karat yellow gold in a flat, graphic interpretation and others with outlines in micro-pavé diamonds that highlight negative space and openness. Highlighted with clover accents rather than all-over clover motifs, these show-stopping pieces are perfect for a night out. From oversized, playful diamond chandelier earrings to ultra-sexy diamond stiletto drops, bold cocktail rings to a truly unique hammered pendant, the collection has a one-of-a-kind sensibility.

Heidi’s numerous other ventures include self-designed collections for such prestigious companies as fine jeweler Mouawad and popular shoe line Birkenstock. She is the host and executive producer of Bravo’s twice Emmy-nominated series “Project Runway,” which has been called “the Prada of reality shows,” by The New York Times.

Heidi manages to build her empire on her ability to identify “what is sexy.” She now to adds to her jewelry collection, a shoe line, as well as crafting unique home products and embroidered clothing and accessories. Her own paintings have even appeared in national magazines.

In addition to the expected earrings, bracelets, necklaces and rings, the updated line now offers a variety of unusual and personal pieces. From a stunning, functional perfume bottle/pendant created in 18-karat gold and diamonds to Zodiac charms that represent every month of the year, the collection is geared toward a unique perspective on fashion.

“Jewelry is a really personal accessory. It should reflect your personality, your lifestyle, and become something that has real sentimental value,” Heidi explains.

She continues, “I hope that people enjoy wearing the jewelry as much as I enjoy designing it, because I really do put a lot of myself-a lot of thought and care-into it.”

Klum’s collection was recently featured on QVC this past fall with a tremendous response: 14 of 16 styles in the debut collection completely sold out, ending the anticipated hour-long broadcast after only 36 minutes. Overall, more than 11,000 pieces were sold during the show!

“I am ecstatic that the QVC customer responded so well to my collection,” says Klum, creative visionary behind the new fashion jewelry line. “I hope the pieces are true good luck charms for the women who wear them.”

“The QVC customer is extremely discerning when it comes to jewelry,” said Catherine Coquillard, Vice President of QVC Jewelry Merchandising.Coquillard continues, “Not only were they impressed with the craftsmanship and attention to detail that went into the pieces, they were thrilled to hear Heidi’s story behind the collection. The strong sales speak volumes of how well the line was received, and we could not be happier to welcome Heidi Klum to our ever-growing stable of creative jewelry designers.”

The Heidi Klum Jewelry Collection is available through QVC at 800.345.1515 or www.qvc.com while supplies last. Heidi's next QVC appearance is April 14th.
