GLOBAL Contenders:
A Look at Gino Green Global
Written by Yvette N. Coleman
With life as an inspiration, artist Prince and several
contemporary artists developed a collection with intense
designs for the fashion conscious trendsetters in 1999.
The Gino Green Global name extends the desire to transcend
boundaries and reach a variety of consumers that share
the same aesthetics of creativity for art and design.
The Gino Green Global brand continuously challenges
itself so that it does not succumb to the stereotypes
of just being another “urban” brand. Gino
Green Global projects universal appeal especially in
light of the fact that designer Prince has made contributions
and influenced the industry through his work as a graphic
designer, graffiti artist, and fashion designer for
the last 20 years.
“Gino Green Global is a reflection of one relentless
desire to be creative, successful influential and global
minded. We design for those who do not stand still but
live and love life, and the lead the way for others
to follow,” says Anthony Mayol of Gino Green Global.
Mayol continues, “We definitely think
the term ‘urban’ can be limiting, but streetwear
can be as well. However, if a particular line has been
influenced or is designed for a particular consumer,
the description is accurate as long as it is used with
the appropriate respect. ‘Urban’ fashion
should never be thought of as lower or less, because
truth be told it is the most influential segment of
the fashion world. We intentionally chose GLOBAL as
part of our name because we wanted to create a line
that was clearly influenced and reflective of ‘streetwear,’
but could be accepted by a variety of consumers.”
Gino Green Global is the new contender and is ready
for the title. The respect goes to the founders of this
genre, but Gino Green Global feels that the fashion
game and American culture “is so open that something
new, creative and dope is gonna get a chance to do its
thing, and that’s Gino Green.” With plans
to launch a women’s collection for the back to
school fall season as well as children’s and accessories,
Gino Green Global has it all covered. Jones explains:
“We’re continuing to expand our line and
really showcase the vision that will make us a global
success. We are confident that our designs are going
to surprise a lot of people.”
Words of wisdom from Anthony Mayol from Gino
Green Global:
“You know it sounds cliché, but it is so
true, study your craft, work hard, sacrifice and believe
in yourself. Realize that real success is not an overnight
accomplishment. It’s the journey over many years
that provides the rewards that are most fulfilling.
And always do right by people, and look to keep relationships
rather than to burn bridges.”
Gino Green Global, the global minded, couture and
urban influenced clothing company has expanded its basic
tee shirt and sweat hood collection to include, polos,
jeans, leathers, and track jackets, as well as women’s
shirts, tanks, and hoodies that are stylish, chic and
sexy.
