A Bawls-y Energy Drink

A young gentleman walked up to the lady in front of me and said, “Would you care for some BAWLS, miss?”  Needless to say she burst out laughing - - as did most of the people standing in my area.  BAWLS is a new energy drink sweeping across the country.  I got wind of the drink at New York Fashion Week, where the drink was given out to fashionistas as they entered the various shows or as they sat and chitchatted about whatever it is fashionistas discuss.  The drink is sweet, but with no after taste.  But more importantly, it does its job!  After sitting through countless shows and feeling like my attention span has relocated to Florida, I needed a quick pick-me-up and BAWLS energy drink supplied that for me.

I couldn’t help but to wonder what type of shelf life BAWLS will have.  The market is saturated after all.  I had a brief q&a with Sabrina Gonzales, Marketing Director for BAWLS about the energy drink market and how they plan to position BAWLS so that it is a success story. 

How do you plan to market BAWLS and how is it different from other energy drinks?

It’s crucial to have a strong, grassroots-like following of your product when you’re in the saturated energy drink industry. So many of them look and taste alike, and it’s hard to have the credibility to survive.
