It is human nature to long for bygone days. One way to achieve this is to wear apparel that reminds us of our favorite sports teams past and present because as a fan, our allegiance is crystallized by the fabulous moments of the players - - a retrospective vicarious living, if you will.
But who wants to wear bulky game day jerseys all the time? Around for just under two years, Retro Sport is the answer. Retro Sport is a licensed apparel collection of edgy shirts that fashionistas and sports enthusiasts alike can wear.
We posed a few questions to Marc Herman, CEO Brand Trust, about Retro Sport’s movement - - make no mistake, this is a collection that will not be forgotten.
Fashion Ledge: If Retro Sport could be summed up in one word, what would it be?
Herman: Ubiquitous
Fashion Ledge: It is often said that “Vintage” apparel can be risky because the styles do not change from season to season. Do you agree with this statement? |

 |
 |
Herman: I disagree. Vintage can be achieved in a number of ways. For Retro Sport, innovative washing technique and collection of logos from the past and present gives our product a vintage appeal.
Fashion Ledge: Who is the client base and how is Retro Sport marketed?
Herman: Retro Sport’s customer comprises of men and women that either have an affinity for sports or fashion. When most people think of licensed apparel collections with a sports theme, jerseys and hats usually come to mind. With Retro Sport, the combination of innovative washing techniques, color and fit give the product a fashionable appeal all the while still keeping the interest of true sports fans.
To date, the brands retail positioning has been one of its greatest marketing assets. Retro Sport is sold at better department stores and boutiques nationwide like Fred Segal, Atrium, Kitson, Scoop, Saks, Intermix and E Street. That reality affirms that what Retro Sport is doing is viable and desired by consumers. |

Retro Sport has also been fortunate to have a number of A-list celebrities like Ashton Kutcher, Mark Wahlberg, ColdPlay, Josh Holloway, Leonardo Di Caprio and Nick Lachey, wearing our product. These two things along with a strong word of mouth buzz has propelled Retro Sport to a must have item.
Fashion Ledge: Where is Retro Sport available?
Herman: Retro Sport is available nationwide. Customers can log onto www.retrosportapparel.com to find retailers in their area [and to see what is next for the company]. For those that don’t have stores in their area, product can be purchased online at www.distantreplays.com, www.revolveclothing.com, and www.coolestshop.com.
