LISA CURRAN Spring 2006
Written By Yvette N. Coleman |
Before the first stitch was sewn, Lisa Curran was just
a customer looking for the perfect swimsuit. A
petite size 4 with a 32D cup chest, Lisa found it difficult
to find a stylish bikini that would offer the perfect
fit. Mixing and matching top and bottoms became
frustrating. With her fashion background in tow, Lisa
decided it was time to do something about this most
unfortunate situation. Lisa Curran evolved from a fashion
buyer for Barneys NY and Gucci
to designing her own swimwear collection. As a
buyer, Lisa's intuition for what customers needed and
wanted became unmatched. She recognized early
trends and developed that knowledge, which she later
used to nurture her own line.

Creating swimwear with the hottest trends …
”Boho Chic”
is the inspiration for the spring with an earthy –
Bohemian appeal that’s straight from the runway
with sexy one-pieces, bikinis, caftans, tankinis
(which fit up to a size 14), and beach towels.
Curran’s philosophy: “Most people
are very self-conscious on the beach, so I strive to
make women exude confidence when wearing one of my designs,”
says Curran. She continues, “I know the best way
to flatter a woman in a swimsuit and that will always
be my approach.”
Lisa Curran Swim has sophisticated versatile styles for
every woman, even the mommy –to-be! Being a mother
of two, Lisa can easily identify with the pregnant woman
that wants to be stylish at the beach. The maternity
line is called Mama and can be found in boutiques as
well. Look for Lisa’s collection toexpand into
to resort wear and casual living pieces. |

Words
of advice from Lisa Curran:
“Know you target market – and always
be open to change – What you might have thought
would be the perfect idea might have to be altered a
little to actually make a profit. “
