Written By Yvette N. Coleman
Liliana Villalobos, the youngest of six, found her intuitiveness
within nature and the love of sports. Born in Lima,
Peru, her clients experience the richness of the Amazon come
alive with her textured prints, sexy one-piece suits and a
barrage of unique accessories.
Aguaclara, which means “clear water”
in Spanish, began in the early 1990’s after
Liliana went into partnership with her brother, Jorge Villalobos
who is the current Director of Applauzi Peru and Applauzi
International Corp. USA - and the two incorporated Applauzi
S.A. (bathing suits manufacturing).
In 1993, Liliana married Fernando Almaraz-Grandchant and
is now mother to three children: Josefina, 10 years old; Fernanda,
8 years old; and Mauricio, 5 years old. Currently, Liliana
serves as Director of the Tailoring Committee of the National
Industrial Association and gives lectures on market tendencies
to different organizations in the same line of business.
With all of Liliana’s responsibilities, she still manages
to keep her collection fun and basic with bright colors, beads
and hand appliqués that embellish these suits while
setting this collection apart from the competition.
Inspired by the glowing sea, the so very sensual and provocative
spider web-like knitting completes this Collection while evoking
the subtle nuances of nature at play. Aguaclara also includes
separates in this collection so customers have many choices
of solid tops, bottoms and mini skirts!
We asked Liliana what makes her stand apart and ahead of
the curve in comparison to other companies:
“We have been in the swimwear business for
16 years now, and we are getting better every year! Our image,
creativity and the unique touch we give to our collections,
helps us cover new markets," says Liliana.
Retail: $100 to 120.00 per bikini or one piece suit
