Swimwear Trends: Beach Etiquette For The Summer

It makes sense to discuss swimwear as a whole as part
of our swimsuit issue. In order to do this, we
glanced at Figleaves.com (one of the world’s largest

with some guiding dos and don’ts for the beach.

One of the biggest trends is crochet swimwear and
paisley is also big with fabric. Pastels are going
out. This season marks the death of the less-colored
swimwear. More color (rich corals and bright melons)
is more important. On this same vein, the best new
look is skin prints (leopards), which are huge right
now. This summer you will rarely see a hot all white
swimsuit or an all black one because of the dominance
of prints. It is okay to accessorize with swimsuits this season.
Accessories such as cover-ups and little skirts are
the latest rage. It is no wonder that most swimwear
is being used as daywear now. One reason is that the
standard cup size is different now. Therefore,
swimsuits are not being sold together any longer, but
as separate pieces. This allows for some creative mix
and matches by the consumer - - yes, you! So don’t be
afraid to show a little initiative with your swimsuit.
