aqualara Spring / Summer 2006
Written by Yvette N. Coleman
High fashion in swimwear has come in it’s own spotlight in the last
few seasons. One of the sexiest this season is aqualara swimwear. Taken
their name from creative director Reyhan Sofraci favorite name ‘Dilara’ and
the word ‘Aqua’. “We wanted
a name that carried signature elements of luxury and was internationally marketable. It
rings off the tongue in most languages of the world, says Sofraci.”
Sofraci put her design hat in the arena of lingerie and
swimwear nearly four years ago with the encouragement of family and friends. Always
fascinated with the two, she focused all of her energy on creating high-end
designer swimwear that would “empower women by making them
feel and look sexy.” She self-educated herself
through the industry with determination and perseverance thus the birth of
a brand.
aqualara has the elements that drive swimwear into high
fashion, with provocative silhouettes that accentuate curves to capture every
woman’s ideal hourglass figure. She focuses on the natural lines
of the body that translates into a collection that embraces femininity. The
elegant fabric choices give each piece a unique statement of individuality.
“We incorporated a fresh feel on glamorous suits by providing
a level of class yet capturing a sense of refined sexiness. The quality,
originality of the product and the branding are all-important elements that
have raised Aqualara several steps above some of the competition, “ says
Sofraci.
The aqualara 2006 collection takes its cues from Egyptian
queens to Victorian coquettes, with subtle adornments and rich accents. By
setting the standards in high quality swimwear fashion aqualara stands away
from trends…
